What is this site?

For three years now, localconnection.net has been a growing site bringing local musical events in the Maplewood/South Orange area to you on the web. The goal has been to try to capture the spirit and essence of these events through multimedia, including video, pictures, and audio clips of the performances, with descriptions of the events in a reporting-like manner. I believe the events we have captured so far do just that - show the tremendous community spirit as well as the cultural diversity and talent in our area.

Coming in the Fall, 2007, localconnection.net will have a new look and new purpose. We will continue to bring these events to you on the web, but in addition, we will also be a place where you can post your events and performance schedules, post performer profiles, find venues, link to myspace pages and YouTube video clips, post photos, all multimedia that you maintain. All of the events, profiles, venues, and articles will also be cross referenced so that from any record, other links will be available, so you will not have to go far to see a performer, see all upcoming events, then see all events at that venue, all with multimedia links and files.

So, keep checking back here as new events come online, and the new localconnection.net also comes online. Thank you all for the support you have given me, and the kind words and feedback I have received. I hope this site and these efforts will help you to reach your audience and share yourself with family, friends, and the community.
